Here is a value that shapes every dependency choice we make. I do not want to depend on software that no one is
accountable for. Sometimes that means a commercial vendor — Restate is a company, and I want a real relationship with
the people who keep durable execution durable. Sometimes it means sponsoring a maintainer through GitHub Sponsors, so
the crate we lean on has someone paid to answer the hard bug. Wide availability and a paid relationship are not in
tension; they are the same bet. The commons stays healthy when the people who show up to maintain it can afford to keep
showing up. A foundation-governed language taught me that, and I want our money flowing the same direction as our trust.
